OPEN TO TECHNICAL PROJECT COORDINATOR ROLES · CAPE TOWN

Hi, I'm Lisa.
I build things, break them on purpose,
then make them look better.

Ten years of keeping things running: eight supporting the operations and governing board of a 250-resident retirement centre, and two in software delivery. I track the work, chase what's outstanding, and confirm it's actually done.

How I got here

  1. 01

    Administration

Eight years on the front desk and in the office at Serene Park Retirement Centre: residents, records, billing, correspondence.

  2. 02

    Operations & coordination

Board Secretary to the retirement centre's board, outside events on site, and first response for the building's systems. Separately, as a volunteer: coordinating a team of teachers for a weekly children's programme.

  3. 03

    Technical delivery

Since November 2024: testing and verifying releases of a live campaign platform, and co-founding a tournament platform that ships on my sign-off.

Each step built on the last. Project coordination is the job that uses all three.

Experience

experience, newest first
  1. QA Tester (contract)

Inner Reality · Remote · 15 Nov 2024 to present

A campaign platform. I build and test live campaigns for betting and gaming operators and international consumer brands.

    • Clarify requirements before testing starts, then test each platform release and carry every defect in Jira through to closure: reported to the developer, fixed, retested until it holds, closed.
    • Create the look and feel of the public-facing campaigns clients' customers play, starting from a template and customising the page set-up, colours and buttons to each client's requirements, then test the user journeys to make sure everything works as expected. Five live so far, three of them AR experiences and one running across three countries.
    • Designed a live prize survey from the ground up: its look and feel, its mechanics and how it works.
    • Also build demos for client pitches, and create quizzes and surveys.
    • Took over the team's QA test-case tracker and expanded it to around 350 cases across 6 user journeys (campaign setup, sign-up, sign-in, map, vault, AR), each recording environment, build version, severity, expected vs actual and the linked Jira ticket, kept current as features ship.
    • Verify that deployments have actually landed before signing off, and call "not ready" when they haven't.
    • Report what's fixed and what's outstanding in a weekly 1:1 with management and in the weekly team meeting.
    • Ship front-end work through reviewed pull requests, including unifying Campaign Creator's look and feel against supplied branding: CSS, wording and consistency across its pages.
  2. Co-Founder

GG Anvil · 2026 to present · alongside my primary role

A separate venture I co-own with one partner: a Discord-native competitive gaming and tournament platform, in development. Its map-veto tool is already live and in use.

    • Build, test and fix features across the platform, and still developing it: 228 merged pull requests and 55% of the commits on the backend's main branch.
    • Sole tester: my QA sign-off comes before every release.
    • Handle client questions, explaining how the product works and walking users through the interface.
    • Shape product direction and feature priorities with my co-founder.
  3. 2024

Relocated from Pretoria to Cape Town.

  4. Receptionist & Board Secretary

Serene Park Retirement Centre · Pretoria · Sep 2015 to Dec 2023

117 units (77 cottages, 40 flats), up to around 250 residents and a daily activities programme. One of three office staff under the manager, who reported to a governing board.

    Receptionist · front desk & office · 2015 to 2023

    • Ran the front desk for residents and visitors, and gathered residents' wishes and issues to bring to the board.
    • Kept resident administration in order: the resident records workbook in Excel (details, contracts, subscribed services, residents joining and leaving), VoIP billing to and from residents and bulk payment to the provider, DStv subscriptions and cancellations, and petty cash and levy-account charges handed to the finance officer.
    • Coordinated outside groups running events at the centre: who, what, when and where, the venue and set-up, and informing and reminding residents.
    • First responder for the building's systems, trained by the manager: borehole, solar, backup generator during loadshedding, VoIP, Wi-Fi, lift and gas emergencies.
    • Built the centre's website and started and ran its WhatsApp news channel; supported resident transport and the activities programme, and helped residents with their phones and laptops.
    • Ran sound and slideshows at residents' memorial services and supported their families on the day.

Board Secretary · the centre's governing board · most of those eight years

    • Prepared the agenda and the financial report for each roughly quarterly board meeting.
    • Organised the meetings themselves, catering included.
    • Kept the action log tracking every point from the last agenda: what was done, and what was still outstanding.
  5. Aftercare Assistant

    Buzz Zone · Pretoria · about 2013 to 2015

Drove school pick-ups to the aftercare, prepared lunch, helped with homework, ran activities and school-holiday day care.

  6. Volunteer, community organisation

    Pretoria · about 2007 to 2021

    • Secretary: meeting agendas, records and weekly correspondence.
    • Weekly live-event production: sound, projection synced to the live programme, the printed weekly programme, and playing in the band.
    • Led a weekly children's programme for about 13 years, coordinating a team of volunteer teachers.
    • Helped run community events through the year, such as Mother's Day, Father's Day and Christmas: attendee lists and collecting payment, meal prep, setting up and decorating the hall, running the day and clearing up after.

Case studies

The Christmas gift project

Serene Park · three years running

Problem
Ouma en Oupa Kersprojek (the Grandma and Grandpa Christmas Project) brought a group of children to perform and give gifts to the residents. Around 250 gift requests had to reach them in time, and the day had to run inside the centre.
Responsibility
The centre's side, from first date to final cleanup.
Coordination
Set the date, time and venue. Handed out about 250 gift-request forms a month ahead, collected them by a deadline and passed them to the group to source the gifts. Told residents, then reminded them.
Execution
Had the groundsmen set up the hall, ran the day, and saw the cleanup through.
Result
Ran three years in a row.

The board action log

Serene Park · quarterly board cycle

Problem
A governing board that meets roughly quarterly needs its decisions to survive the months in between.
Responsibility
Board Secretary for most of eight years.
Coordination
Prepared each agenda and the financial report, carrying in the residents' issues gathered at the front desk, and coordinated the meeting itself, catering included.
Execution
Kept an action log carrying every point from the last agenda: what was decided, what was done, what was still outstanding.
Result
Every point decided was tracked from decision to done, meeting to meeting.

The QA tracker and defect loop

Inner Reality · ongoing

Problem
A campaign platform shipping across six user journeys needs one current record of what has been tested, where, and on which build.
Responsibility
Took over the team's starter checklist and have maintained it since.
Coordination
Each defect goes to the developer, comes back fixed, and is retested until it holds before the loop closes. What's fixed and what's outstanding goes to management weekly.
Execution
Expanded the checklist to around 350 cases across 6 journeys, each tied to environment, build version, severity, expected vs actual and a Jira ticket.
Result
One tracker, kept current as features ship, with every defect followed from report to close.

The match-night map veto

GG Anvil · live

Problem
Competitive gaming league hosts needed a way for two team captains to ban and pick maps before a match. The tool they were using worked, but it was clunky.
Responsibility
Helped create a better version with my co-founder. I owned the testing and shaped the interface and user experience.
Coordination
Took the hosts' request from idea through build and testing to release, with small fixes caught and made along the way.
Execution
Designed the flow so both captains run the whole veto in one session, across best-of-3, 5 and 7 formats with presets for each league.
Result
Live and used by competitive Call of Duty league hosts, including a women's league: 150+ map vetoes created so far. Try it. The rest of GG Anvil is still in development.
